Boryspil Airport is one of the most famous airports in our country. It is from it that you can fly to anywhere in the world. The airport is located at a distance of 29 kilometers from Kiev.

The fact that it is from this airport that you can get everywhere is not surprising, because Borispol is located right at the intersection of the main air routes connecting Europe, America and Asia. More than 40 airlines, both Ukrainian and foreign, carry out their transportation in Boryspil. There are 77 routes from Boryspil in total, which carry passengers around the world.

Boryspil airport was built in the 50s of the last century. It was then that there was a need for an airport in Ukraine that would be able to serve aircraft weighing more than 100 tons. At first, they wanted to reconstruct the airport in Zhulyany, but, nevertheless, they decided to build a new one, near the air force complex, which was located in Borispol. There was a large lane, and there was a highway nearby. Accordingly, it was in Boryspil that the best location for the airport was for security reasons.

The airport was built very quickly, because people worked around the clock. Although the conditions, frankly, were not the best. People had to live in temporary premises that were not very comfortable. In order to somehow encourage and motivate them, the management installed a model of the airport so that employees could see why they are trying so hard.

The airport "Boryspil" took its first flight on July 7, 1959. Then the management and journalists flew to Kiev from Moscow. In total, there were 100 people on board, as well as 1600 kilograms of luggage. So it was proved that the airport can fully receive guests.

Very little time passed and Boryspil took the third place among the airports of Ukraine. The first and second were occupied by the airport in Simferopol and "Zhulyany". Since then, the airport has been operating regularly, constantly receiving and

sending flights. Of course, in 60 years it has been reconstructed, some terminals have been closed, others have been opened, technologies have improved.

Today the airport has two operating terminals "D" and "F". Terminal "D" is the newest - it was opened in 2012. The terminal area is 107,000 square meters, which is why it is the largest in Ukraine.

Everything has been done in this terminal to make the passengers as comfortable as possible. First, there are 60 check-in counters in the international area, 16 for domestic flights and 6 for web check-in. There are also 18 checkpoints for international flights and 6 for domestic ones. Thanks to 28 passport control booths, there are almost never queues at the airport, which is very important, because people are often late. This terminal serves 10 million people per year. In an hour, the airport can serve 3000 passengers for departure and arrival.

This terminal has a very comfortable waiting gallery in the departure area, which is 870 meters long and is yet to increase by more than 400 meters when construction work ends in 2022. To make waiting and staying in the terminal comfortable, there are escalators and elevators. The terminal also has a VIP room and a playground.

Terminal "F" is the second functioning terminal at the Boryspil airport. It was opened a little earlier - in 2010. This terminal can serve 900 passengers per hour for arrival and departure. But since 2013, it has been mothballed because there was no need for it. It was reopened only in 2019 so that the terminal would serve Ryanair and SkyUp flights. Now this terminal operates, accepting charter flights and low-cost flights.
