Rest in Kirillovka: the geography of the village, infrastructure and other important nuances
Kirillovka is one of the most popular resorts on the Azov Sea. That is why tens of thousands of Ukrainians and guests of our country go there every year. Therefore, many people know this resort like the back of their hand. But there are those who go on a journey for the first time. It is to them that we want to tell about Kirillovka, its geography and provide some useful information that will help orientate if you find yourself in the settlement for the first time.
A bit of history
But let's start with history. After all, it is always interesting how the settlement you arrived at appeared. Oddly enough, but Kirillovka appeared thanks to the religious community. In 1805, Siluyan Kapustin arrived on the coast of the Sea of Azov with his followers, who called themselves Dukhobors and believed that they were fighting for genuine Christianity. Siluyan, together with the believers, organized a settlement and named it Kirillovka in honor of his son.
After 40 years, the Dukhobors left and free peasants settled in Kirillovka, who upset the settlement. Kirillovka became a resort in 1920, when people began to come there for therapeutic mud. Since then, Kirillovka has been constantly developing as a resort. Today it is 15 kilometers long.
Geography of Kirillovka
For those who visit the resort for the first time, it is often difficult to navigate and understand where what is. Therefore, now we will tell you about each part of Kirillovka, and what you can find there.
Kirillovka is divided into four parts:
• Center
• Fedotova spit;
• Peresyp spit;
• Stepok.
If you need to find an ATM or bank branch, shop, cafe, then you definitely need to go to the Center. It is there that the branch of "Privatbank", "Ukrtelecom" is located, there are various cafes and restaurants where you can eat deliciously.
As for the entertainment facilities, it is there that the Oscar Dolphinarium, the Treasure Island Water Park, as well as an amusement park, an aquarium and a safari park are located. And, of course, there are many nightclubs for fans of nightclub life.
As for the central beach, you have to walk 30 minutes from the Center to it, and, frankly, the beach itself is definitely not worth the effort. Because the water is dirty and there are too many people.
That is why most of them do not rest in the Center, but on the spits.
The first braid is Peresyp. It is quite narrow - the width ranges from 200 to 1000 meters. It extends from the east and separates the Sea of Azov from the Molochny estuary. The length of the spit is 9 kilometers. There is a well-developed infrastructure, clean water.
The second braid is Fedotova. It is much longer than Peresyp, its length is 45 kilometers. The spit has become so long because Biryuchiy Island is part of it. The island joined the spit in 1929, because then a lot of sand was washed and parts of the land were connected. It is on this island that there is a reserve, which we will talk about in the next article.
Fedotovaya Spit has many entertainment venues, its own amusement park, many shops, markets, and various cafes. And also, it is there that windsurfing and kitesurfing schools are located.
The last part of the resort is Stepok. This is the area directly between Fedotova Spit and Biryuchiy Island. You can rent a house there. There is a market, nightclubs and cafes in Stepka.
