Zoo "Safari" - a special world of wild animals in Berdyansk

What is special about Safari Zoo
This zoo was opened in Berdyansk 11 years ago. Therefore, he is very young, both in comparison with Ukrainian and European zoos. But, despite the "young" age of the institution, it has become an incredibly interesting place, as 80 species of animals live there. The main task of the zoo, its founder and owner Igor Kalchenko, considers helping animals and creating ideal conditions for them, as close as possible to natural ones. In addition, when the opportunity arises, animals are sent back to their natural environment. For example, five lion cubs went to Africa last summer.
Animals live in large open-air cages, have places for shelter. That is why, when visiting the zoo, one must be prepared for the fact that some animals may not want to leave their houses. There is nothing wrong with that, because they, like any living creature, have the right to rest when they please. The zoo has animals from Africa, Eurasia, America and Australia. They all have their own character traits, their own tastes, some are very sociable and gladly go to people. Others, on the contrary, keep aloof, but still remain very interesting for visitors.
The zoo has amazing animals such as pink flamingo, alpaca, meadow dog, lemur, chimpanzee, orangutan, capuchin, ostrich, baboon, camel, lion, zebras, pelicans, white wolf and white tiger, peacock, porcupine, eagle, leopard, cockatoos and many other animals that cannot be found in our natural halo.
What visitors need to know
A ticket for adult visitors costs 200 hryvnia, and for children - 150 hryvnia. If the child is less than 1 meter tall, she can enter the zoo for free. To get to the zoo, you can take minibus 15 or 17 or bus 5/2. Number 5/2 goes directly to the zoo, and numbers 15 and 17 go directly to the Krasnaya Gvozdika stop.
If you are driving by car, then you just need to move towards the Berdyansk Spit and look at the signs, and then turn left near the Lazurny sanatorium, then right and after 500 meters you will see the zoo.
The zoo has a parking lot, so you can always leave your car and enjoy your walk in peace. The only thing to remember is that you cannot enter the zoo with your pets, as they can irritate or scare the animals, or get scared themselves.
Zoo "Safari" is located at 5 Pearl Street (former Volkova). The Lazurny sanatorium, located nearby, has a large billboard with information about the zoo.
